Over their two day trip to New York’s capital, Todd Baxter (VOC Executive Director), Jocene Henderson (VOC Director of Operations), and Matthew McGee (VOC Executive Assistant to the Director/Marketing Coordinator), met with politicians and provided an overview of VOC operations and services, including a briefing of NYServes Upstate.

VOC representatives were able to meet with Senators: Rich Funke, Thomas Croci, and Joseph E. Robach, Assemblymen: Stephen Hawley, Michael G. DenDekker, Joseph G. Morrelle, and Brian M. Kolb, and NYS Veterans Affairs Director Eric Hesse. Additionally, VOC was introduced on the NYS Assembly Floor and acknowledged by the Speaker of the House.

Veterans Outreach Center is grateful to their hosts for such a wonderful opportunity. This trip proved successful as Jocene Henderson was able to discuss the value proposition behind NYServes Upstate, and the impact the network will have on coordinating services for veterans and military families throughout our region.
